Remember….“Those who win, won “first”.. in their minds. Speak good and empowering things over yourself even when no one’s listening”
Fill your life to the brim with love and positivity and allow others to be touched by its lighthouse effect. To get what you’ve never had; you have to be willing, open and receptive to doing things you may have never done.
Dust off or ramp up your faith and let’s take a walk.
I am sharing 6 life and mindset principles that I have used in my career that has helped tremendously to shape, grow and promote me into a better person, better listener, better teacher, better leader both at work and home, as follows:
▪ Be able to adapt to change quickly:
In changing and uncertain times, it’s crucial to be able to pivot through change and to learn from it. Access and address.
▪ Be teachable/coachable:
This includes being the teacher and the student. Being mature enough to be in a room and be a master asker; seeking answers to questions that will catapult your team to new heights and also to be in a room and be a master listener; to be willing to grow at all costs, to learn from others, to be open to being developed and groomed into the best version that you can authentically be. You may not like the person delivering the message but can you be mature enough, to be coachable enough to grow from it and go through it?
▪ Be available:
Meaning being motivated, able to be, see, do things that may not be in your job description but is for the overall good of the team AND another skill set that you will have acquired that you can use over and over in your life. Essentially, the art of experience that keeps on giving, if you allow it. Raise your hand and your status quo. Volunteer for projects and do things that will help the team. Every skill you acquire is yours! It’s up to you how you use it or expand on it.
▪ Be a problem solver:
Offer solutions when presenting problems. Show your valuable contributions. Speak up. Step up. Take the initiative. What are you waiting on?
▪ Be able to accept feedback:
To take the good with the bad & work on it. Feelings don’t pay the bills. Don’t harp on irrelevant and insignificant things. There will be so many other things that will require a sense of urgency and added stress. Just like a parachute, don’t deploy too early. Get tough mentally and flood yourself with positivity spiritually. Just like an athlete trains for the big game day. When the time comes, you want to be in the game, not riding the bench!
▪ Give yourself permission to let your light shine:
God ▪Glowing ▪ Growing▪; to be the absolute best example of what you believe, taking it one day at a time reigniting your faith walk through every phase, trials and transitions, seasons and unknown reasons to ultimately be a blessing, encourage one another and to make life better for yourself and others. People are watching even if they don’t act like it.
“The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings”
– Okakura Kakuzo
Decide that today and going forth you will operate in a realm of relentless ambition. That you will demand more of yourself than anyone else could ever demand of you, knowing that every time you stop, you can still do more. You must do more. Your legacy is on the line. Your children are watching. Your family needs and looks up to you. Generations are being healed through you. Laws are being changed and written because of you.
☆☆☆☆☆☆ Who are you “not” to be brilliant?!? ☆☆☆☆☆☆
