Just a few short months ago I hit the 9 year mark as a Breast Cancer survivor. And, then, just like that, I had a reoccurrence and became a THRIVER! What does this all mean? Do I revert back to when I was originally diagnosed and stir up old feelings of possibly not being here for the long haul? After overcoming adversities and finding a way to move forward and not let CANCER take me down? What does this all mean? Does it CHANGE my life again or forever?
Well, I am here to tell you, NO! NO to feeling you are going to be defeated and let this disease or any disease take you down. It’s just another blip in the road. Life will always continue to throw you curve balls and you need to keep hitting them out of the park.
You need to surround yourself with the best support system whether its family, friends, co-workers or strangers in a support group that become your family and friends who help lift you up. It’s okay if you breakdown and cry. LET IT OUT! And then move past it. DO NOT GIVE IT POWER! And, LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!
All you need is to look at where you are RIGHT now and do the things you enjoy doing. Be a ROLE MODEL. INSPIRE and MOTIVATE the people around you. If you can put a sparkle in someone’s eyes, whether it’s something you say or do, that means more to me than all the money in the world.
I believe when you are living your best life, it’s not about the amount of money you have, it’s about how you can look at your current situation and turn that into wealth. And, for me, it’s always been having a WEALTH of family and friends.
In the past several years, I have also learned if you put it out in the UNIVERSE it will come to fruition and wow truer words cannot be said. But you have to believe it is the TRUTH.
In closing my motto to all of you is to “NOT LET CANCER (OR WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING THRU) GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR LIFE; LET YOUR LIFE GET IN THE WAY OF CANCER!!!!”
Gotta live! keep it movin’
